Another day another ride, this time it’s for food!!!!
Well it seems it's always for food, but this time it's really good food.
As always we met at the grill and BS’ed while we waited for everyone to
arrive. No one seamed to egger to eat as we were told some good BIG
food was at the end of our ride. Today just happened to be Fabby’s
birthday, and two day’s prior to mine, yeah me and my honey are two days
apart. So now Berni’s burger run has become Berni’s burger run for Fabby
and Beans Birthday. Long name isn’t it.
So off we went to get burgers in Concord / Walnut Creek, Aris did great job
as always blocking traffic so everyone could leave together. On we rode
92 East to 880 North to traffic and lots of it, we found and I think scared a
tow truck driver into letting 15 bikes get in front of him, Manual did a great
job interpreting my hand jesters and that allowed everyone to get over
together, I must say we have some really good sweeps.
So over to 238 and merge onto 580 were we were hit by a nice breeze, I
think it was blowing a mild 30-35 mph. But everyone looked like they were
dealing ok with it so I picked up the speed a little. As we were getting
ready to merge onto 680 a nice black brand new Charger turned on lights
(cop lights that is) and had all of us scratching our heads as he had no
stickers or anything to show he was a cop, oh well we were only doing 80
anyways.
So onto 680 and now the wind was hitting us head on, nice so much for a
relaxing ride. But the sun was shinning and we had a nice pack cruising
along so why complain. We merged onto our exit Treat Blvd hung a right
and hit light and then another and then it seamed we hit every red light
we could.
We finally got to Gordo’s Gourmet Burgers and everyone ran in to order.
The place smelled great, and everyone eating there had a BIG smile on
there faces so I knew the food must be good. Everyone ordered on we
began to munch, you know the food is good when even Pete is quite. The
food was excellent, good choice Berni. They even went next door a got a
birthday cake for Fabby and myself. Gooooood cake, even got some up
my nose, wouldn’t recommend snorting coffee flavored cake or any cake
for that matter.
On the way home we stayed off the freeway for the most part, and it was a
nice easy ride home, windy but nice. Thanks everyone for your off key
singing and a great ride. Couldn’t think of better group to spend our
birthday weekend with.
