90mph + for two to three hours, well getting wiser in my old age I have
come to understand that not everyone enjoys that type of a ride.
come to understand that not everyone enjoys that type of a ride.
So now that I'm done with my vent, we begin the actual ride, we all met at
the grill between 9:00 and 9:30 some earlier than others and after the
requisite group picture we rode off at about 9:30 give or take a few
minuets.
Sterling did a good job of blocking on coming traffic so we had a clear path
to leave the grill. I made sure to enter the freeway slow so that we didn’t
have any stragglers and we began our uneventful ride south. That is
except for Ray’s abrupt stop on the side of the freeway about two minuets
into the ride for still unknown reasons, maybe an open saddle bag, loose
helmet, regardless everyone pulled over and in minuets we were back on
the road.
Doing my best to stay between 70 – 75 we headed down 101 S. and two of
sterling’s friends joined us down around Palo Alto. Now everyone had told
me to look out for the cops down there, but I wasn’t ready for the one cop
per square foot ratio they had. OMFG. They should have assigned one cop
per bike and they might have had fewer cops.
That aside, we had a nice ride into the parking area and found some open
spots close to each other and we were off in every direction. Saw some
friends I hadn’t seen in a while had some decent grub, and walked around
aimlessly for about an hour or so. Although our group as a whole didn’t stay
to get our bikes blessed it was still a fun ride. Four of us rode back
together back up 101 and went our separate ways as we got close to home.
Beautiful day, great friends and a nice ride, who could ask for more on an
Easter Sunday.
